FIVAY vs. FREEDOM | October 22, 2021
HUDSON- It’s been a little bit since the last time the Fivay Falcons won a game. You’d actually have to go back a few weeks to check the last time the Falcons won, which was earlier in the season in a 28-0 victory over Anclote. Fivay went into Friday’s contest versus Tampa Freedom aiming for win No. 2 and were able to get it. The Falcons scored on a go-ahead touchdown by quarterback Nick Monfre (#1) and defeated the Patriots 27-25. Fivay now improves to 2-6 on the season and it was a very happy Falcons’ group after the game.
“This is a huge win for us as a confidence builder,” Fivay head coach Brian Wachtel said after the game.
Down 25-21 in the waning minutes of the game, Monfre along with running back Ty Wilson (#4), were able to guide the Falcons down the field for the game-winning drive. Once the clock hit all zeros, the celebrations began on the Fivay sideline.

FIVAY vs. ZEPHYRHILLS | September 10, 2021
HUDSON- There might be no team that’s caught fire like the Zephyrhills Bulldogs as of late and the Fivay Falcons ended up having to take the brunt of it Friday night. Though the Falcons were coming off a 28-0 win over Anclote the previous week, but were not able to build momentum off of that. The Bulldogs got out to a big first half lead before running away with a 42-0 victory in over the Falcons.
Zephyrhills now improves to 3-0 on the season and have the best over record in Pasco County. Fivay drops to 1-2 on the young season. The Falcons seemed to be hanging around at first, only down 13-0 during the second quarter. That’s when Nick Carroll’s bunch turned it up a notch and scored 20 points and went into intermission up 33-0. By the third quarter, the game was under a running clock and the Bulldogs were well on their way to 3-0. The Bulldogs take on Wesley Chapel and the Falcons face Sunlake.

FIVAY vs. ANCLOTE | September 3, 2021
HUDSON- Coming off a 43-0 loss to Mitchell last week, Fivay was looking to bounce back at home when they hosted the Anclote Sharks at Falcon Stadium. The game would be the first one for the Sharks and the Falcons were able to grind out their first win of the young season. Fivay now improves to 1-1 on the season and Anclote starts off at 0-1.
On paper, both teams seemed evenly matched, as Fivay is in somewhat of a rebuild under first-year head coach Brian Wachtel. The Falcons got on the board first up 6-0 and went into half with the same lead. It would be the entire second half in which Fivay scored the majority of its points, as the Falcons notched eight in the third and scored two touchdowns in the final quarter. Fivay will be back at home next Friday when they face Zephyrhills, a 43-2 winner over Hernando, at Falcon Stadium.
